Alfred Thompson Bricher (1837 – 1908) was an American painter who specialized in marine subjects, with particular emphasis on subjects from Maine, the Bay of Fundy, and the Maritime provinces of Canada. Born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Bricher grew up in Newburyport, Massachusetts. As a young man, he worked as a clerk in Boston while studying painting, in which he was largely self-taught (although there is some evidence that he studied formally at Boston's Lowell Institute).
