Summary
In 1934, William Powell and Myrna Loy starred in one of the most delightful mysteries ever filmed. Under the expert direction of W.S. Van Dyke, they played husband-and-wife sleuths that engaged in witty repartee and thrilling investigative work, aided and abetted by their precocious dog, Asta.

Based on the best-selling novel by the great Dashiell Hammett (author of The Maltese Falcon), The Thin Man was the first in a long-running series of wonderful films starring Powell and Loy as Nick and Nora Charles. In this first (and best) entry, they investigate the disappearance and later, murder, of an inventor, who is actually the "thin man" of the title — and not Nick Charles.
