Summary
After a long, ten-year wait, Superman finally leapt from comic books to screens in this amazing Columbia serial. The serial was originally planned for production by Republic Pictures in 1940, but due to problems acquiring rights from DC Comics, the project was dropped. However, Republic kept the script, made a few changes and produced "The Adventures of Captain Marvel." The following year, Paramount acquired the rights, but rather than producing a regular feature, they turned the project over to the Fleischer brothers who produced an animated series. Columbia finally acquired the rights and featured Kirk Alyn as the "Man of Steel" in the long-anticipated serial. This poster features the best image of the superhero and is also the most sought after poster on the film.
